Note: Widely used therapeutic models and medications are developed as management tools or coping devices at best — none are developed as, or confirmed to be, solutions. Their efficacy is measured based on often unclear goals, but primarily on management of the condition, attendance rates, and testing of patients for a specific therapy without reference to others — for example, testing CBT's efficacy whilst the person is also taking medication and receiving multiple other therapies, making the test obsolete. There exists no credible evidence that these therapies act on the core problem or produce curative results. In fact, in most cases, quite the contrary: many make anxiety disorders worse or do nothing at all.

Anxiety is a physical response — not a flaw in your thinking
The body’s fear response is triggered by the brain’s threat-detection system before conscious thought has a chance to intervene 5. It is driven by the body’s stress-response system and the hormones it releases — a measurable, physical process, not a pattern of “wrong” thinking 6.
That is why approaches aimed only at thoughts or memories can bring genuine, temporary relief but rarely lasting recovery: they work at the level of conscious thought, while the fear response runs underneath it.
